Standard Supply Configuration

• Bare pump - no fittings, adaptors or couplings fitted
• Clockwise rotation viewed from the shaft end - SAE A 2 bolt mounting flange with 5/8 inch keyed shaft, BSPP ports
• Sizes 25 cm3/rev and up ship with HNBR seals as the Caproni factory standard; smaller sizes ship NBR
• Standard blank rear cover unless a relief cover is ordered
• Rotation as stated - a gear pump cannot be reversed in the field

Technicians Advice

Fit the coupling, never hammer it. A parallel keyed shaft takes the coupling with a light interference or a slip fit and a grub screw on the flat - hammer blows land on the front bearing.

The suction line is the number one killer. Gear pumps do not suck well. Full-bore inlet, short run, no elbow directly on the inlet port. Noisy cold, quiet warm = marginal suction.

It needs relief protection. Fixed displacement does not know how to stop. Set the relief below the pump rating against a real load, or order the integrated relief rear cover below.

Warranty and Service

12-month warranty on every pump. If you are identifying an existing pump, photograph every number cast or stamped on the body and the shaft end and send it through with your enquiry - gear pump part numbers are long and one letter changes the shaft or the rotation.
