The VLP is the workhorse inline relief valve — a compact aluminium block with the inlet and outlet on opposite faces, so it drops straight into a pressure line without a manifold. It limits maximum system pressure by dumping excess flow to tank, protecting pumps, motors and cylinders from overload.
Adjustment is by a leakproof hex socket screw under a cap, so the setting cannot be knocked out by accident in the field.
| Model | Ports | Max flow | Max pressure |
| VLP40-14 | 1/4" BSPP | 25 L/min | 350 bar |
| VLP40-38 | 3/8" BSPP | 35 L/min | 350 bar |
| VLP40-12 | 1/2" BSPP | 40 L/min | 350 bar |
| VLP80-34 | 3/4" BSPP | 80 L/min | 350 bar |
| VLP130-34 | 3/4" BSPP | 130 L/min | 300 bar |
| VLP130-10 | 1" BSPP | 130 L/min | 300 bar |
| Setting code | Standard factory setting | Adjustment range |
| 01 | 80 bar / 1,160 psi | 20 – 100 bar |
| 02 | 180 bar / 2,600 psi | 40 – 250 bar |
| 03 | 250 bar / 3,600 psi | 60 – 350 bar |
Choosing a setting: pick the range your working pressure sits in the middle of, not at the very top or bottom. A valve set near the end of its spring travel is harder to adjust accurately and less stable.
Manufactured by CBF Hydraulic, Montecchio Maggiore, Italy. Recommended oil viscosity 10–420 cSt, working temperature −20 to +90 °C, absolute filtration 25 µm. All valves supplied set to the standard factory pressure unless you tell us otherwise — note your required setting in the order comments and we will set it before despatch at no charge.
Tee it close to the pump - a relief valve a metre downstream protects the hose, not the pump. Set it with a gauge, 10-15% over working pressure, setting in the middle third of the spring range, locknut tight. If it sings or weeps at idle, the seat is scored - replace the cartridge before swarf takes the pump.
