BSP Tapered Female x JIC 37° Male 90° Compact Elbow

BSPT female one end, JIC 37° male the other, at 90°. Lets a JIC hose end feed into BSP pipework, or a JIC male line land on a BSPT nipple, with a right-angle turn in between.

Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Female – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the thread interference and must be taped or sealed.
• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.

How to Choose

• The BSPT female end needs tape or sealant. The JIC end must stay completely dry.
• Whatever screws into the female must be BSPT male, not NPT.
• The JIC male needs a 37° swivel female or JIC port to land on.

Where You’ll Find It

• BSP Tapered Female – Female side of local pipework, adaptor blocks and gauge manifolds.
• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker call this series Triple-Lok. The industrial cousin of the AN 37° flare used in aviation and motorsport.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.

Cross-references are given at series level as a guide to the standard, not as a part-for-part substitution. Always confirm the thread form, size and seal type against the port before ordering.

Technicians Advice

This fitting has one end that wants sealant and one that must never see it, and it is the one people most often tape at both ends. Tape on a JIC thread just holds the cone off its seat, so the joint leaks and the natural response is to tighten it further, which then flattens the cone.
