BSP Tapered Female x BSP Tapered Male 45° Compact Elbow

A female-to-male 45° compact elbow in BSP tapered thread – the straightforward way to put a 45° turn into an existing BSPT run without changing anything else. Male into the port, female accepts the next fitting. Standard on Aussie-built tippers, truck bodies, Kanga and Dingo loaders, Merlo, Manitou, JCB and general farm machinery.

Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Female – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the tapered thread itself.
• BSP Tapered Male – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the tapered thread itself.

How to Choose

• First number is the female end, second is the male end – they can differ if you are stepping size.
• Male end goes into the port or component; female end takes the onward fitting.
• Compact body for confined installs; swept bends flow better where space allows.

Where You’ll Find It

• BSP Tapered Female – Female side of local pipework, adaptor blocks and gauge manifolds.
• BSP Tapered Male – Older Australian and British pipework, gauge ports, tank and return lines, and cast pump and gearbox housings.

Technicians Advice

Both ends are tapered thread, so both seal on sealant rather than a seat. Tape the male end before it goes into the port and keep the female end clean until the mating fitting is ready to go in. The classic mistake is tightening the female end afterwards and unscrewing the male end behind it – always hold the elbow body with a second spanner.
