BSP Tapered Female x BSP Tapered Female Straight Socket

Tapered BSP female both ends. The plain socket for joining two BSPT male fittings, and the part most often used to extend a threaded run on Australian and British-built gear.

Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Female – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the thread interference and must be taped or sealed.

How to Choose

• Both ends seal on the thread of the male going in, so both males need sealant.
• BSPT is 55°. A 60° NPT male will start and then tear the thread out.
• Equal and unequal sizes are stocked, so measure both males.

Technicians Advice

Keep sealant tape back off the first two threads on each male and wind it the direction the thread turns. Tape started on the leading thread unravels going in, and the tail that ends up in a valve spool is a far longer day than a weeping socket.
