BSP Tapered Male x JIC 37° Swivel Female Straight Adaptor

BSP tapered male one end, JIC 37° swivel female the other. One of the highest-turnover adaptors we stock, because it puts a JIC hose straight into a BSPT port.

Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Male – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the tapered thread itself, so it needs PTFE tape or a liquid thread sealant.
• JIC 37° Swivel Female – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals on the 37° cone seat and swivels, so the hose is never wound up during assembly.

How to Choose

• The JIC swivel female seals on its 37° cone and turns, so the hose is never wound up during assembly.
• The BSPT male seals on the thread and needs sealant. Keep it off the cone.
• Unequal sizes are stocked, so match the port and the hose end separately.

Technicians Advice

Do the tapered male end first and wipe your hands before you touch the cone. Sealant on a 37° seat holds under test and seeps in service, and that is the leak that costs you a second trip.

Where You’ll Find It

• BSP Tapered Male – Older Australian and British pipework, gauge ports, tank and return lines, and cast pump and gearbox housings.
• JIC 37° Swivel Female – Hose ends on imported machinery, where the swivel lets the assembly be fitted without winding up the hose.
