Thread Standards

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.

How to Choose

• All three ports are the same size and thread, so it does not matter which way the tee goes in.
• All three ports seal metal to metal on the 37° cone. No tape, no sealant, no O-ring.
• Watch for 45° flare in the same machine. A 45° female pulled onto a 37° cone will hold on test then fret out.

Technicians Advice

Three cone faces to wipe before assembly. A JIC pulled up with grit on the seat leaves a witness ring, and once it is there the joint seeps every time the oil warms and thins.

• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.

Cross-Reference

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker call this series Triple-Lok. The industrial cousin of the AN 37° flare used in aviation and motorsport.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
