Thread Standards

• ORFS Male – SAE J1453 O-ring face seal. It seals on an O-ring sitting in the flat face groove, never on the thread.
• ORFS Swivel Female – SAE J1453 O-ring face seal. It clamps down onto the male flat face O-ring and swivels for alignment.

How to Choose

• On a run tee the odd port sits in the middle of the run and the two matching ports are the ends. It is the opposite layout to a branch tee, so check which one the job needs before you order.
• All three ports seal on an O-ring in a flat face. No sealant anywhere.
• The swivel middle turns as you tighten so the take-off hose is not wound up.
• Work to the dash size on the hose, not the thread size.

Technicians Advice

Three rings to check and the middle one is easy to miss. Do it on the bench, and fit the swivel leg last so the hose is routed properly before it is pulled up.

• ORFS Male – High-pressure, high-vibration circuits on late-model excavators, drill rigs, crushers and forestry gear.
• ORFS Swivel Female – Hose ends on modern high-pressure plant where a cone joint would fret loose under vibration.
