Thread Standards

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.
• JIC 37° Swivel Female – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals on the 37° cone seat and swivels, so the hose is never wound up during assembly.

How to Choose

• On a run tee the odd port sits in the middle of the run and the two matching ports are the ends. It is the opposite layout to a branch tee, so check which one the job needs before you order.
• All three ports work on the 37° cone. No tape, no sealant.
• The swivel middle turns as you tighten, so the hose coming off is never wound up.

Technicians Advice

Three cone faces to wipe, and do it on the bench. The port you cannot reach once the tee is mounted is the one that seeps.

Where You’ll Find It

• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.
• JIC 37° Swivel Female – Hose ends on imported machinery, where the swivel lets the assembly be fitted without winding up the hose.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
