Hydraulic Priority Flow Control Valves are an adjustable flow control valve that takes one flow and splits it in to two variable flows

These valves are used to Split One flow into Two Flows. It is adjusted by moving a handle through a 90 degree arc.

Variable Orifice Control:

• The valve uses a rotary lever to adjust the size of an internal orifice.
• Fluid passes through this variable orifice, then through a compensator spool, and finally out the Controlled Flow (CF) port.
• The flow rate at the CF port is directly proportional to the orifice size.

• Both the CF and Excess Flow (EX) ports are pressure compensated.
• A compensator spool maintains a constant flow rate by adjusting for pressure fluctuations.
• A dashpot dampens oscillations between the pump and valve, ensuring smooth and constant flow.

• The sum of the CF and EX flow rates always equals the inlet flow.
• As the CF flow increases, the EX flow decreases, and vice versa.

• External seals on the rotary spool prevent contamination and spool locking.
• Stainless steel (416) rotary spools are used for corrosion resistance.

• The valve is available with outlet ports located on the top of the casting.

• These relief valves protect the CF port from overpressure.
• When the CF port pressure exceeds the relief setting, the valve diverts flow to the EX port.
• Both relief options are field adjustable from 750 to 3000 psi (52 to 207 bar).
• Lower pressure settings (250 to 750 psi) are achievable with a different spring.
• The "B" (high lift) option provides more stable cracking pressure across varying flow rates.
• The EX port must be plumbed to tank.

• Allows unrestricted reverse flow from either the EX or CF port to the inlet.
• This feature is useful for applications involving cylinders and motors that require reverse motion.
• Reverse flow is not metered.
• A heat-treated steel poppet seat ensures durability.

The PFC51 pressure compensated adjustable flow control valves are easily adjustable: by rotating the handle. The flow out of the ‘CF’ or controlled flow port can be varied within the range. Any remaining flow is bypassed to the ‘EF’ or excess flow port. This flow can be used to power another circuit or can be returned to tank.

This "Excess Flow" can be used to power another circuit or it can just return to tank.
