SAE Code 62 Flange x JIC 37° Male 45° Compact Elbow

The high-pressure version of the flange-to-JIC crossover. Code 62 uses a thicker head and a tighter bolt pattern for pressures well above Code 61, and the compact 45° body gets the hose away from the pump case in tight installations.

Thread Standards

• SAE Code 62 Flange – SAE J518 Code 62 high-pressure split flange. It seals on a face O-ring and uses a heavier, tighter bolt pattern for high pressure.
• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.

How to Choose

• Confirm the port is Code 62. The heavier head and closer bolt centres are the giveaway, and a Code 61 head bolted into a Code 62 port will lift under pressure.
• Code 62 is rated far above Code 61 at the same nominal size. Never substitute down to save money on a high-pressure line.
• Check the hose and crimp carry the same rating as the flange, or the flange rating is wasted.

• SAE Code 62 Flange – High-pressure pump and motor ports on excavators and heavy plant.
• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.

• SAE Code 62 Flange – SAE J518 Code 62 / ISO 6162-2 high-pressure split flange. Heavier head and tighter bolt pattern than Code 61.
• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker call this series Triple-Lok. The industrial cousin of the AN 37° flare used in aviation and motorsport.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.

Cross-references are given at series level as a guide to the standard, not as a part-for-part substitution. Always confirm the thread form, size and seal type against the port before ordering.

Technicians Advice

Code 62 flange bolts are a higher grade than Code 61 and are not interchangeable. If a previous repair has left standard bolts in a Code 62 flange, replace them. The head will lift and blow the O-ring long before the bolts show any visible sign of failing.
