SAE Code 62 Flange x JIC 37° Male 90° Compact Elbow

The high-pressure version of the flange-to-JIC 90°. Code 62 runs a thicker head and a tighter bolt pattern for pressures well above Code 61, and the compact body gets the hose off the pump case fast.

Thread Standards

• SAE Code 62 Flange – SAE J518 Code 62 high-pressure split flange. It seals on a face O-ring and uses a heavier, tighter bolt pattern for high pressure.
• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.

How to Choose

• Check the port is genuinely Code 62. The heavier head and closer bolt centres are the giveaway, and a Code 61 head will blow out of a 62 port.
• Code 62 is rated far above Code 61 at the same nominal size. Never step down to save money on a pressure line.
• Make sure the hose and crimp carry the same rating, or the flange rating is wasted.

Technicians Advice

Code 62 bolts are a higher grade than Code 61 and are not interchangeable. If a past repair has left standard bolts in a Code 62 flange, bin them and fit the right ones. The head will lift and blow the O-ring long before the bolts look like failing.

• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker call this series Triple-Lok. The industrial cousin of the AN 37° flare used in aviation and motorsport.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
