VRFU Barrel Flow Control Valve with Reverse Free Flow - 3/8" to 1-1/4" BSPP

A barrel bodied inline flow control with the reverse free flow check built in. The round body is shorter and lighter than a block type valve of the same rating, which matters when you are fitting into a tight loom. Meters one way, runs free the other.

How to choose

Mind the pressure rating on the big sizes. The 1" and 1-1/4" are 250 bar, not 350.
Fit the free flow direction the way you want fast. Check the body marking.
Tight space? This is the shortest body we stock for the flow.
Need 1/4"? The STU range covers it, this one starts at 3/8".
Filtration matters. These want 15 micron oil. Dirty oil scores the needle and the setting drifts.

Technicians Advice

Barrel valves are easy to fit and easy to get wrong, because the body is symmetrical enough that people put them in backwards and only find out when the ram comes back slowly. Look for the marking before you tighten. The 250 bar rating on the two biggest sizes catches people out on truck and crane circuits that sit at 280 or 300 bar, so check your relief setting before you pick the 1". Filtration is not optional advice on these: the factory asks for 15 micron, and if the oil is dirty the taper gets scored and the valve will not hold a setting. If the adjustment feels notchy or the speed wanders with no change in load, pull it out and look at the needle before you blame the pump.
