Thread Standards

• ORFS Male – SAE J1453 O-ring face seal. It seals on an O-ring sitting in the flat face groove, never on the thread.

How to Choose

• A plug is male and blocks a female port. A cap is female and covers a male end. Work out which one the open connection is before you order.
• Seals on the O-ring in the flat face. Nothing goes on the thread.
• Check the face groove is clean and the ring is seated before you fit it.

Technicians Advice

If a blanked ORFS port weeps, it is the ring, not the torque. Pull it out and look. Winding a face seal tighter just flattens the ring and makes the next attempt worse.
