Parallel BSP both ends in a straight nipple. Joins two BSPP ports or swivel-nut hose ends on Australian and British-built gear, where a bonded washer or cone does the sealing rather than the thread.

Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228. It seals on a bonded washer against the port face or on a 60° cone, never on the thread itself.

How to Choose

• A parallel thread cannot seal on itself. Each end needs a bonded seal washer or a 60° cone seat in the mating part.
• Do not substitute BSPT. A tapered male into a parallel female binds part way and never seals.
• Unequal sizes are stocked, so check both ports rather than assuming they match.

Technicians Advice

The usual failure on a BSPP joint is the bonded washer left off or reused flat. It is a two dollar part holding the whole joint, so fit a fresh one every time and make sure the port face is clean and square before you wind it down.

• BSP Parallel Male – Valve and manifold ports on Australian, British and Asian-built equipment, and most locally made hose ends. The default port thread on Australian truck and agricultural hydraulics.
