Thread Standards

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.
• JIC 37° Swivel Female – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals on the 37° cone seat and swivels, so the hose is never wound up during assembly.

How to Choose

• On a branch tee the two in-line ports carry the main flow and the third port comes off the side at 90°. Get that the wrong way round and the tee physically will not fit the run.
• All three ports work on the 37° cone. Nothing goes on any thread.
• The swivel branch turns as you tighten, so the hose coming off it is never wound up.
• Equal and stepped sizes are stocked, so the branch can be a different size to the run.

Technicians Advice

Three cone faces to wipe, not two. Do it on the bench with a clean rag before the tee goes near the machine, because the port you cannot reach once it is fitted is the one that will seep.

• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.
• JIC 37° Swivel Female – Hose ends on imported machinery, where the swivel lets the assembly be fitted without winding up the hose.

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker call this series Triple-Lok. The industrial cousin of the AN 37° flare used in aviation and motorsport.
• JIC 37° Swivel Female – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker series Triple-Lok.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
