How to choose

• Measure the thread, not the hole: BSP sizes refer to thread size, and a 1/2" BSP thread is not 1/2" across.
• Match both ends to what you are joining – the long bulkhead end passes through the panel, the short end takes your hose or adaptor.
• Going through a tank into suction line? Step up a size rather than necking your suction down.

Technicians Advice

BSPP parallel threads do not seal on the thread – seal the parallel male end with a bonded (Dowty) washer against a machined face, never PTFE tape alone. When fitting through a panel, drill the hole just over the thread OD, deburr both sides, and clamp with the locknut on flat metal. Use two spanners: hold the fitting body while you torque the locknut, otherwise you will twist the whole line and load the hose. If the panel is thin or flexes, fit a large washer each side to spread the clamp load.
