BSP Tapered Male Equal Tee

Three BSP tapered male ports. The workhorse BSPT tee for splitting a threaded line three ways.

Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Male – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the tapered thread itself, so it needs PTFE tape or a liquid thread sealant.

How to Choose

• All three ports are the same size and thread, so it does not matter which way the tee goes in.
• Every joint seals on the thread, so all three need sealant.
• BSPT is 55°. A 60° NPT female will start and then tear the thread out.

Technicians Advice

Keep tape back off the first two threads on all three ports and wind it the way the thread turns. On a tee you are doing this three times, so it is three chances to leave a tail loose in the circuit.

• BSP Tapered Male – Older Australian and British pipework, gauge ports, tank and return lines, and cast pump and gearbox housings.
