Hose Tail – BSPT Male Tapered – Straight – Two-Piece Crimp-On

A BSP tapered male on a straight crimp tail, for screwing a hose straight into a BSPT port.

A two-piece crimp-on assembly is two separate parts: this tail (the stem) and a ferrule that crimps over the hose. The ferrule is not included. You need one ferrule per tail.

We sell them separately on purpose. Several different ferrule styles will fit, and the right one depends on the hose you are crimping onto, not just the size:

• FS‑R2 Multi‑Fit – 1‑wire, 2‑wire, M3K and MXT braided hose. One series covers the lot, so most jobs take this.
• FS‑R7 – thermoplastic 100R7 hose. Different outside diameter and crimp figure to braided hose.
• FS‑R14 – PTFE 100R14 hose with stainless braid.

Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Male – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21, seals on the tapered thread itself, so it needs PTFE tape or a liquid thread sealant

How to Choose

• A straight tail is the default. Only go to a bend when the hose would otherwise leave the port at an angle it does not like.
• The tapered thread seals on itself and needs sealant. Keep it off the crimp end.
• BSPT is 55°, NPT is 60°. They start together and tear, so confirm the port.

Technicians Advice

Hand tight plus two or three turns and stop. A tapered male wedges as it goes, and winding it harder to chase a weep splits the port rather than sealing it.
