How to choose

• Size is the nominal BSPP thread of the fitting the ring seals – a 1/2" BSPP adaptor takes the 1/2" ring.
• Ring gone AND the plastic ring behind it damaged? Order the matching retaining ring too.
• Face-sealing joint with a washer-style seal? That is a Dowty seal, not an O-ring.
• Not sure? Call with the fitting in your hand and we will sort it in a minute.

Technicians Advice

Wet the ring with clean hydraulic oil before assembly and never wind PTFE tape onto an O-ring sealed joint – tape shreds, the shreds end up in the ring groove, and the joint weeps forever after. If a joint keeps eating O-rings, the groove or the mating face is damaged: replace the adaptor, not just the ring.
