ORFS Hose Tail and Ferrule Build Kit – Two Piece Crimp-On

O-ring face seal tails with matching two-piece ferrules and spare o-rings – the leak-free standard on late-model OEM machines. When the boss is sick of oil on the shed floor, this is the thread that fixes it. Three pack sizes.

Material: Plated carbon steel tails and ferrules, nitrile o-rings included. Suits 1 and 2 wire braided hose (SAE 100R1/100R2, EN853 1SN/2SN).

Thread Standards

• ORFS Female Swivel – SAE J1453 o-ring face seal. A flat face with an elastomer o-ring in the groove – the seal is the o-ring, not the thread, which is why it shrugs off vibration that weeps cone seats.

• Field – service truck assortment for OEM machine repairs.
• Workshop – bench stock, including spare o-rings.
• Fleet – full coverage for workshops running late-model gear.
• If the machine is under warranty or newish OEM, check the hose ends before assuming JIC – ORFS took over on most of them.

Technicians Advice

Fit the o-ring last, after crimping, with a light film of clean oil – crimping with the o-ring in place rolls it out of the groove and it will sit there looking fine until it blows out on first pressure. Never run an ORFS joint without its o-ring "just to test": the flat faces do not seal on their own. Keep the spares from this kit in the van; a 50 cent o-ring is the difference between a five minute fix and a tow.

• ORFS – late-model OEM hydraulic circuits: Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu and Hitachi excavators, and anywhere vibration has killed one cone seat too many.
