Engmattec Inline Flow Control Valve with Check - 1/4" to 1/2" BSPP
A compact inline flow control with an integral reverse flow check, in the three sizes that cover most small circuits. Female BSPP both ends, so it screws straight into a hose run with no adaptors. Meter one way, free flow the other.
Ways to buy this valve:
- Off the shelf: 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" BSPP female, below.
- Bigger than 1/2"? The STU range runs to 1" and the VRFU barrel range to 1-1/4".

How to choose
- Fit it the right way round. Free flow is one direction only, check the body before you tighten.
- Meter the return on anything with a load that can run away.
- Over 1/2"? Step across to the STU or VRFU ranges, buttons below.
- Need a repeatable speed under changing load? Pressure compensated valve, not this one.
Technicians Advice
Small screw adjust valves like this are usually fitted once and forgotten, so set them properly the first time: machine warm, load on, and back the screw out fully before the first start so you are not dead heading the pump onto the relief. Because there is no compensation, the speed you set at 100 bar will not be the speed you get at 200, which is fine for a bleed or a slow close but not for anything that has to repeat. Fit it as close to the actuator as you can. And these are parallel BSPP threads, so they seal on a bonded washer or an O-ring on the male fitting. Thread tape on a parallel thread gives you a weep and a tank full of shredded PTFE.
