Tandem Gear pumps are commonly used in smaller earthmoving equipment.
For Example, the Brands Dingo and Toro use a Tandem Pump assembly driven by a single Petrol (Gas) or Diesel engine.
The First pump (closer to the engine) is usually of larger flow and will generally be used to provide drive to the wheel or track motors.
The second usually smaller pump will be used to provide flow for the auxiliary circuit such as to operate the bucket tilt and boom lift cylinders.
In addition, the second pump may also supply an Auxiliary circuit such as for other specialist attachments such as trenches stump grinders and earth drills (also called augers).
