Important points to Consider when Mounting Hoist Cylinders

To ensure the safe and efficient operation of your hydraulic tipper hoist, follow these critical mounting guidelines regarding the Center of Gravity (CG) of the loaded Trailer or Tipper body:

Mounting Point Positioning

• Forward-Facing Cylinders (X): The upper mounting point must be positioned forward of the body's center of gravity. This ensures the cylinder has the necessary leverage to initiate the lift.
• Rearward-Facing Cylinders (X1): If the cylinder is angled toward the rear, the mounting point must not exceed 100mm behind the center of gravity. Mounting it further back can cause excessive strain on the hinges and hydraulic system.

Installation Steps

1. Identify the Center of Gravity: Determine the balance point of your trailer body when fully loaded.
2. Measure Horizontal Distances (X / X1): Mark your mounting brackets according to the 100mm rule mentioned above.
3. Verify Vertical Clearance (Z / Z1): Ensure there is sufficient depth in the chassis for the hoist to retract fully without striking the ground or axle components.
4. Check Alignment: Ensure the trunnion mounts and top pin eye (30mm) are perfectly square to prevent side-loading, which can damage the internal seals of stages.

Note: Always refer to the specific stroke length (1200 - 1710 mm) of your model to ensure the tipping angle meets your material discharge requirements.

WARNING: Hydraulic cylinders without a hose burst valve, pilot operated check valve or counter balance valve directly mounted to the cylinder will not meet Australian Standard AS1418.8, nor occupational health & safety rules.
