Disc valve motors use a flat rotating disc for the porting instead of a spool, so they seal better as pressure rises.
This is the heavy end of the range - high pressure, high torque and long duty cycles for drilling, large drives, forestry and mining attachments. Covers MS, MLHS, MT, MLHT, MTM, MV, MLHV and MYZ4B plus the value-line BMSY, BMT and BMV.
Disc valve motors use a flat rotating disc for the porting instead of a spool or commutator. The disc is pressure-balanced, so it seals better as pressure rises rather than worse. That is what lets this range hold high pressure and high torque for long, continuous duty cycles - and why it is what you fit when a lighter motor keeps failing.
Drilling and auger heads, large wheel and track drives, forestry and mining attachments, mulchers and mowers, cable and hose reels, heavy conveyors and mixers, and any wheel drive carrying real vehicle weight. If the machine earns money by running all day at pressure, this is the range.
Displacement sets speed and torque at your available flow - and on this range the big displacements pull very high torque, so check your shaft and coupling are rated for it. Then mount, then shaft (this range offers large keyed, splined and tapered shafts as well as wheel flanges), then seal and port options. High-pressure seal versions are worth specifying wherever the motor works near relief pressure.
The disc valve frames use heavier bearing packs than the gerotor and geroler ranges, which is what makes them suitable for wheel drives and other applications where the shaft carries the load directly. The specification sheet on each listing gives the permissible radial load.
