Cooler Connectors and Mounting
These parts get oil into a cooler and hold the cooler onto the machine. Rail style coolers are built with no ports in them: the rail is open at each end and a connector clamps on with an o-ring and screws to give you a threaded port. Foot brackets and protection housings do the mounting side.
Read this before you order. TT Rail coolers need one complete connector kit per cooler. ASA Series connectors are sold individually, and every ASA Series cooler needs TWO of them, one for oil in and one for oil out. Ordering just one is the most common mistake here, and the cooler cannot be plumbed when it lands.
Which one do I need
- Low Line coolers (ASA0013 to ASA0144 and TT06) have threaded ports built in. No connector needed.
- TT Rail coolers TT07 to TT13 take a 1 inch BSPP TT rail connector kit, TT16 to TT25 the 1-1/4 inch kit. Pick the port angle to suit the hose run.
- ASA Series coolers ASA0177 to ASA0927 use individual ASA Series connectors. Pick the thread, then order two.
Coolers are in air blast oil coolers and offline and circulation coolers.

How it gets fitted and what else you need
- Seat the o-ring clean, sit the connector square and pull the screws down evenly, spring rings under the heads. Doing one side first nips the o-ring.
- Leave room behind the cooler for the hose sweep, and clamp the hose so its weight is off the connector.
- A cooler goes in the return line, never a pressure line.
- One foot mount set is two brackets plus hardware, enough for one cooler. Use the heavy duty set on mobile plant.
- A protection housing (ILLEGAKTT07GT, ILLEGAKTT11GT, ILLEGAKTT16GT) suits sites where stones or forks reach the fins, for those three sizes only. For filtration at a connector position, fit a cooler filter kit instead.
Questions we get asked
Are ASA Series connectors sold in pairs? No. They are sold individually. Set the quantity to two, or the cooler arrives with one port and nothing on the other.
How many connectors does one ASA Series cooler need? Two, of the same thread. Oil has to get in and out.
Do I need a connector kit for a TT Rail cooler? Yes, the ports are not built in. One kit does both ends, so it is one kit per cooler.
Is the sandwich plate a connector? No. ILLZASA40-40G12 is a 1/2 inch port sandwich plate, not a connector, and does not replace the two.
