BSP Tapered Female Equal Socket Tee

Three BSP tapered female ports. The BSPT socket tee, used to join three male fittings on Australian and British-built gear.

Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Female – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the thread interference and must be taped or sealed.

How to Choose

• All three ports are the same size and thread, so it does not matter which way the tee goes in.
• Every joint seals on the thread of the male going in, so all three males need sealant.
• BSPT is 55°. A 60° NPT male will start and then tear the thread out of the socket.

Technicians Advice

The females are the parts that split when someone over-tightens a male going in. Hand tight plus two or three turns on each male and let the sealant close the joint rather than the torque.
