Power Unit Tank Breather and Tank Plug – 3/4" NPT

The standard 3/4" NPT screw-in breather and matching blanking plug for the power unit oil tanks we sell – MS, LS, MT, HR and RP series and most other compact power packs. The breather lets the tank breathe as the oil level cycles; the plug blanks the ports you are not using.

Technicians Advice

A blocked or missing breather is the quietest killer of DC power packs. Blocked, the tank pulls vacuum as the ram extends and the pump cavitates – you hear a rattle like gravel and the pump is dead in a season. Missing, the tank breathes dust straight into the oil. Check the breather every service: it should blow through easily by mouth. NPT threads seal on the taper – two wraps of tape kept OFF the first thread, nip it up, done. Never dead-tight: cracking a cast boss costs a tank.
