JIC 37° Swivel Female x Tubeweld Female Straight Weld-On Adaptor

A JIC swivel female one end and a plain weld socket the other. Welds to tube and takes a JIC hose without winding it up.

Thread Standards

• JIC 37° Swivel Female – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals on the 37° cone seat and swivels, so the hose is never wound up during assembly.
• Tubeweld Female (weld-on socket) – plain-bore socket sized to a tube OD, joined by welding rather than a thread. It has no seal of its own – the weld is the joint, so the tube must be clean, square and correctly prepared.

How to Choose

• Sized by tube outside diameter, not by thread. Measure the tube with vernier calipers rather than going by what the old fitting says.
• The swivel female seals on its 37° cone and turns. Nothing on the thread.
• Shield the nut and cone from spatter and heat.

Technicians Advice

Back the swivel nut right off and cover the cone before you weld. Check it still spins freely after it cools, because a nut that has been heat-tightened onto the body is no longer a swivel.

• JIC 37° Swivel Female – Hose ends on imported machinery, where the swivel lets the assembly be fitted without winding up the hose.
• Tubeweld Female (weld-on socket) – fabricated tube runs on machinery builds, tank and reservoir plumbing, and repairs where a threaded connection is not wanted or there is no room for one.
