Hose Tail – BSPP Male Fixed – Straight – Two-Piece Crimp-On

A BSP parallel male on a straight crimp tail, for a BSPP port that seals on a washer or cone rather than the thread.

A two-piece crimp-on assembly is two separate parts: this tail (the stem) and a ferrule that crimps over the hose. The ferrule is not included. You need one ferrule per tail.

We sell them separately on purpose. Several different ferrule styles will fit, and the right one depends on the hose you are crimping onto, not just the size:

• FS‑R2 Multi‑Fit – 1‑wire, 2‑wire, M3K and MXT braided hose. One series covers the lot, so most jobs take this.
• FS‑R7 – thermoplastic 100R7 hose. Different outside diameter and crimp figure to braided hose.
• FS‑R14 – PTFE 100R14 hose with stainless braid.

Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228, seals on a bonded washer against the port face or on a 60° cone, never on the thread itself

How to Choose

• A straight tail is the default. Only go to a bend when the hose would otherwise leave the port at an angle it does not like.
• A parallel thread does not seal on itself. The port needs a bonded washer or a 60° cone seat.
• Do not substitute BSPT – it bottoms part way and leaves a gap.

Technicians Advice

Fit a fresh bonded washer every time. It is a two dollar part holding the whole joint, and a reused flattened one is the most common reason a BSPP joint weeps.

Where You’ll Find It

• BSP Parallel Male – Valve and manifold ports on Australian, British and Asian-built equipment, and most locally made hose ends. The default port thread on Australian truck and agricultural hydraulics. These are commonly used with Quick Connect Couplers to avoid using thread tape, like you would have to with BSP Tapered hosetails.
