How to choose

• Count your functions. One spool drives one thing (a ram, a motor, a tipper). Two cylinders = 2 spool. Loader with lift, tilt and grab = 3 spool.
• Check your pump flow. This valve is happy up to 60 L/min. Above that, step up to our 80 L/min range.
• Driving a hydraulic motor? Standard spools suit cylinders. For motors, call us – we will fit motor spools and remove the load check (important with over-running loads).
• Running two valves in series? You need a power beyond sleeve – it is in our Q45 Spares & Options listing.

Technicians Advice

The Q45 is the valve we put on gear that has to work every day. The monoblock body means there is nothing to stretch or weep like a stacked sectional valve, and the load check on every bank stops a loaded cylinder creeping down while you are getting into position. Set your relief 10–15% above working pressure – not at maximum – and your pump will thank you. If the valve will sit at the end of a long return line (tipper trucks, we are looking at you), keep the back pressure under 25 bar or ask us about the high back-pressure build. And if you are not sure which spool count to buy, ring us before you order – two minutes on the phone beats a freight bill both ways.
