Root Ranger double barrel

When a jetting head will not shift it, you need something that cuts. Root Rangers and Root Rats spin a cutting jet against the wall of the pipe to shear roots off at the joint, blade cutters put a physical stainless blade in the line for 100 and 150 mm pipe, and Predator side cutters attack an offset or a hard deposit sideways instead of straight ahead. Plus the pressure bends, extensions and repair kits that keep them working. All current stock.

Technicians Advice

Cutting heads are the ones that get stuck, and the reason is nearly always that the operator kept feeding after the head stopped advancing. A root cutter that has stopped moving is not resting, it is winding roots around itself, and every extra metre of hose you push makes it worse. The rule is simple: if the head is not advancing, stop and withdraw a metre, let it clear, then go again. Second, on blade cutters - the blade is sized to the pipe for a reason. An oversized blade in a smaller line will bind and can damage the pipe, particularly older earthenware and PVC with a bellied section. Measure or camera the line first; guessing costs more than the survey. Third, watch the water. Root cutting throws debris back past the head, and if the flow coming back at the manhole stops while the pump is still running, something is packed in front of the head. Back off before you lose it.
