DC Power Unit Dust Cover – DMC01

Moulded dust cover for the DC motor on compact hydraulic power packs. Keeps road dust, grain dust and washdown spray out of the motor brushes and start solenoid – the two things that kill DC packs living outdoors. Fits the Mocen-pattern DC motors used on the 12 and 24 volt power packs we sell.

Technicians Advice

A dust cover is not a rain coat – DC motors need to breathe to cool, so never wrap a pack in plastic or foam under the cover. Fit the cover so the drain slots face DOWN, and pull it off at every service to blow the motor through with dry air: brush dust plus moisture is conductive, and it is what turns a lazy motor into a dead one. If the pack pressure-washes weekly (stock crates, tippers on feedlots), grease a smear of dielectric on the start solenoid terminals while the cover is off.
