The M+S HP Series is a premium low-speed, high-torque (LSHT) hydraulic motor built around a proven spool valve and gerotor gear set design.
Engineered for reliability: in compact installations, the HP Series delivers high volumetric efficiency and a smooth operational profile across its full speed range.
All motors are mangano-phosphatised as standard: — a chemical conversion process applied to the external motor body, end covers, and internal housing bores that bonds a crystalline coating directly to the steel surfaces, providing corrosion resistance and a break-in lubricant layer from first use.
Available in 13 displacement sizes from 28.4 cc/rev to 396 cc/rev, the HP Series suits a wide range of industrial, agricultural, and mobile hydraulic applications where space is limited but torque output is critical.

High-Pressure Shaft Seal: Standard "U" version — designed for high back-pressure applications where return line pressure is elevated.
Multiple Shaft Options: 1" Straight Woodruff Keyed, 1" SAE 6B Splined, 7/8" 13T Splined, and additional shaft configurations available on request.
Mounting Versatility: SAE A 2-bolt (HP Series) or Square 4-bolt flange (HPQ Series). Both configurations are dimensionally interchangeable within the same displacement range.
Port Configuration — Forward Behind Mounting Flange / East - West
Standard Supply Configuration C4U: Shaft 1" Woodruff Keyed, Mount SAE A 2-bolt, Ports 7/8" UNF, Case Drain 7/16" UNF.
Mangano-Phosphatised as Standard: A chemical conversion coating applied to the motor body, end covers, and internal housing bores — bonding a crystalline layer to all external and non-precision steel surfaces. Provides corrosion resistance, improved paint adhesion, and a break-in lubricant layer that reduces wear during initial commissioning.
Check Valve Option: Available with integrated check valves (suffix K in order code) for applications requiring load-holding or anti-cavitation protection.
The HP Series uses a structured 9-position order code. Key positions:
Position 1 — Mounting Flange: Omit = SAE A 2-bolt | Q = Square 4-bolt
Position 2 — Displacement: 25, 32, 40, 50, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 315, 400
Position 3 — Shaft Extension: C = 1" Straight Woodruff Key | G = 1" SAE 6B Splined | S = 7/8" 13T Splined | T = 1" SAE J501 Tapered
Position 4 — Port Size/Type: 1 = 7/16-20 UNF (side ports) | 2 = 2×G1/2, G1/4 | 4 = 2×7/8-14 UNF
Position 5 — Shaft Seal: U = High pressure shaft seal
Position 6 — Check Valves: Omit = Without | K = With check valves
Position 7 — Drain Port: Omit = With drain port | 1 = Without drain port
The HP Series is well suited to a broad range of low-speed, high-torque applications including:
Agricultural machinery — augers, conveyors, feeders, spreaders, and seeding equipment.
Industrial machinery — textile production, mixing equipment, conveyor drives, and winches.
Mobile equipment — deck drives, log splitters, compactors, and street sweepers.
Marine and fishing — winches, net haulers, and anchor drives.

Technician's Advice — from our workshop floor:
The HP Series is the workhorse motor for conveyor drives, textile machinery, and agricultural augers. For the longest service life, run your system fluid through a 25-micron or better filter before commissioning. Always fill the motor case with clean hydraulic fluid before first start — dry-starting a Gerotor motor is the single fastest way to destroy the gear set.
To ensure best motor life, fill with fluid and run at moderate load for 5 to 10 minutes before returning to full operating pressure. This allows the internal spool and Gerotor set to seat properly and ensures all bearing surfaces are lubricated before full load is applied.
Always ensure your case drain line is connected and returns to tank with minimal back pressure. On the standard C4U configuration, the 7/16" UNF case drain port must never be blocked.
If you are running elevated return line pressure, watch for pressure spikes; a momentary spike above the shaft seal rating will blow the seal and oil will leak out into the drive casing, into your machine, onto the ground and worst case a dry hydraulic system.
We ship hydraulic components across Australia from warehouses in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia. Because we sell solid steel components — cylinders, pumps, motors, fittings, and hose assemblies — freight costs reflect real weight and real distance. We do not hide freight costs in inflated product prices. What you see is what you pay.
Hydraulic components are manufactured from solid steel. A single cylinder, pump, or motor can weigh 6–150kg depending on the product. Freight costs vary by product weight, dimensions, and your delivery location. We have negotiated the best available carrier rates for our volume and absorb a portion of freight cost on every order.
Standard parcels: 2–7 business days
Heavy freight: 3–8 business days
Large/pallet freight: 3–10 business days
Orders placed before 12 Midday AEST ship same business day (where stock is available)
It is our intention to maintain active stock on every listed item at all times. On rare occasions, due to high demand or supply constraints, a size may be temporarily unavailable. If this occurs, you will be notified immediately and offered the choice of a full refund or a short wait for incoming stock — typically 3 to 14 days.
