How to choose

• A plug fills a female port or fitting; a cap covers a male end. Male thread showing = you need a cap; open hole = you need a plug.
• Measure the thread outside diameter and match it to the size column – the dash number in brackets is the thread size in 1/16ths of an inch.

Technicians Advice

JIC seals metal-to-metal on the 37° flare – never use tape or sealant, it only masks a bruised cone and sheds into the oil. Run the swivel up by hand, then a firm spanner nip; if it will not seal, inspect the flare for nicks before you reach for more torque.
