The proper way to run a log splitter: a genuine Italian Galtech Q75 valve factory-fitted with the hydraulic auto-kickout detent. Pull the lever, it locks into detent, the ram retracts on its own and the lever kicks back to neutral when the cylinder is home – while you line up the next log. Adjustable release pressure, so it works with your cylinder, not against it.

| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Brand / Origin | Galtech – Made in Italy |
| Max flow | 80 L/min (suits 2-stage log splitter pumps up to 28 GPM) |
| Max pressure | 350 bar working |
| Ports | 1/2" BSPP work & inlet, 3/4" BSPP tank |
| Kickout release | Hydraulic, adjustable, releases on pull (retract) as standard |
| Relief valve | Adjustable, factory pre-set |
Set the kickout release pressure below your relief setting – if the kickout is set too high the lever will not release and the pump sits on relief, cooking your oil. Wind it right down, retract the empty ram, and bring it up until the lever just holds through the full stroke, then a quarter turn more. On two-stage pumps, remember the kickout sees high-stage pressure at the end of the stroke, so set it with a log in the machine, not free-stroking. And plumb the tank line straight back to the reservoir – the auto-return relies on low back pressure to snap cleanly out of detent.
