Thread Standards

• SAE Code 62 Flange – SAE J518 Code 62 high-pressure split flange. It seals on a face O-ring and uses a heavier, tighter bolt pattern for high pressure.

How to Choose

• A plate blanks the port face; the split flange halves and four bolts clamp it.
• Code 62 is the higher pressure standard with a different bolt pattern and a thicker head than Code 61.
• Seals on the O-ring in the face.

Technicians Advice

Even, staged, cross-pattern tightening on all four bolts. At Code 62 pressures a cocked plate does not weep, it lets go, and a blanking plate leaving a live port is dangerous.
