Thread Standards

• SAE Code 61 Flange – SAE J518 Code 61 standard-pressure split flange. It seals on an O-ring captured in the flange head face, clamped by four bolts.

How to Choose

• A plate blanks the port face. The split flange halves and four bolts do the clamping.
• Code 61 and Code 62 are not interchangeable. Code 62 has a different bolt pattern.
• Seals on the O-ring in the face. Nothing on the bolts.

Technicians Advice

Pull the four bolts up evenly and in a cross pattern in stages. A plate cocked on one corner pinches the ring, and a blanked port that weeps is the one nobody thinks to check.
