Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Female – BSPP to ISO 228. It needs a bonded washer or a cone seat to seal, because a parallel thread cannot seal on itself.
• SAE Code 62 Flange – SAE J518 Code 62 high-pressure split flange. It seals on a face O-ring and uses a heavier, tighter bolt pattern for high pressure.

How to Choose

• The flange face seals on an O-ring clamped by four bolts. The BSPP port needs a washer or cone seat.
• Code 62 has a different bolt pattern and thicker head than Code 61. Do not mix them.
• The 90° is fixed. Check the orientation before bolting down.

Technicians Advice

Orientation first, then even staged tightening on all four bolts, then the hose. At Code 62 pressures getting the flange square matters more than anywhere else on the machine.
