A BSP parallel female port on a Code 61 flange block with a 90° turn. Takes a BSPP line off a flanged pump or motor port and turns it square.

Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Female – BSPP to ISO 228. It needs a bonded washer or a cone seat to seal, because a parallel thread cannot seal on itself.
• SAE Code 61 Flange – SAE J518 Code 61 standard-pressure split flange. It seals on an O-ring captured in the flange head face, clamped by four bolts.

How to Choose

• The flange face seals on an O-ring, clamped by four bolts. The BSPP port needs a bonded washer or a cone seat.
• Code 61 and Code 62 do not interchange.
• The 90° is fixed, so check which way it needs to point before you bolt it down.

Technicians Advice

Set the block orientation and get the four bolts up evenly in a cross pattern before you connect the BSPP side. Once a hose is pulling on it you cannot correct a cocked flange without starting again.
