Cooler Filter Kits

A cooler filter kit puts return line filtration where the oil already has to go. The ILLZRF kit takes the place of a plain rail connector, same port but with a spin-on filter head on it. Same clamp, same o-ring, same screws, so you gain filtration without another hose run or bracket.

Read this before you order. The spin-on element is not included. The kit is the connector and the filter head only. Add an element to the order, or the cooler goes on with an empty head and filters nothing.

Which one do I need

• Port and flow. The 3/4 inch BSPP versions are rated 60 or 100 L/min, the 1-1/4 inch BSPP versions 180 or 220 L/min. Match it to the return flow you have, not to the hose that is there.
• Micron. 10 micron for clean systems and anything with proportional or servo valves. 25 micron for older machines, mobile plant and dirty oil, where a fine element loads up in weeks.
• Indicator. HFZVOG15 optical if somebody walks past and reads it, HFZVEG15 electrical to signal a lamp or a control input. Both are G 1/2 inch.

How it gets fitted and what else you need

• Order the element with the kit. Send us the kit and the micron and we will match the element.
• The kit takes one connector position on the rail. Tell us which cooler it is going on and we will confirm the other end.
• Leave clearance under the head to spin an element off. Oil the new seal and fit it by hand.
• Return line only. Never put a cooler or its filter in a pressure line.
• Read the indicator warm, not on a cold start, or thick oil sends you chasing a good element. An H-Cube already has a 16 micron return filter and indicator built in.

Questions we get asked

Does the filter kit include the spin-on element? No. The kit is the connector and the filter head. The element is a separate line on the order, every time.

Which element do I order with it? Message us with the kit code, the flow and the micron you want and we will match the correct spin-on element.

Can I run it without an element for now? No. With an empty head the oil goes straight through unfiltered, so you have gained nothing.

Do I still need a plain connector kit as well? Something has to go on the other end of the rail, and what depends on the cooler and the connector kit already fitted. Ask us.

What does the 2 bar bypass do? On a cold morning thick oil will not pass an element. At 2 bar the bypass opens and oil goes around it, saving the element and the core.
