Technicians Advice

The bit nobody tells you about lances: the tube is a wear item and it wears from the inside out. Grit that gets past the inlet filter scours the bore, and on a zinc plated tube the plating goes first, then the steel starts shedding into the nozzle. If you are chewing nozzles faster than usual and the water looks fine, cut an old lance in half and look at the bore - that is usually where it is coming from. Second, do not over-tighten the nozzle. These are tapered threads into a thin wall tube and a nozzle wound in with a shifter will split the end, sometimes weeks later. Nip it and check for a weep. Third, if you are bending your own tubing, use the bender - heating and bending by hand thins the outside of the bend and that is exactly where it will burst, at head height, next to the operator.
