An auto reverse valve makes a cylinder cycle back and forth on its own. When the cylinder reaches the end of its stroke, pressure builds, the valve senses it and reverses the flow — no limit switches, no relays, no PLC.

Used on continuous duty machines: agitators, oscillating tables, reciprocating feeders, test rigs. Anything that needs to keep stroking without an operator on the lever.

It needs an end-of-stroke pressure rise to work. If the cylinder never quite bottoms out, or an overcentre valve absorbs the pressure spike, the valve will not sense the end of stroke and the cycle will stall.
