Technicians Advice

Never stack reducing bushes to hit a size – every extra joint is a leak path and the stack-up throws off your reach into the port. Seal the male end with a bonded washer under the hex; the female side seals on whatever screws into it. A bush shortens thread engagement for the mating fitting – if it bottoms out before the washer clamps, you need a longer fitting, not more tape.
