How to choose

• Match the pin size to the clevis or bracket it connects to.
• Use a ball end where the mount can twist or flex, so the cylinder is not bent sideways.

Technicians Advice

Keep the heat away from the ball while you weld. Tack it, then weld in short runs and let it cool between runs, or the ball can tighten in its housing. Weld the full perimeter for a load-carrying joint, and size the weld and the parent steel for the full cylinder force, not just the working load. Grease it once it is cold.
