Technicians Advice

Grips are the cheapest part on the wand and the one that gets ignored until someone gets hurt. On a hot water machine an uninsulated grip reaches water temperature within a minute, and the operator compensates by holding the gun further back, which puts all the leverage on the wrist and the gun body. That is how gun bosses crack. The vented insulated grips work because the air gap does the insulating, so do not wrap them in tape or a rag when they get scruffy - you defeat the vent and trap heat instead. And check the grip for movement every few weeks: a grip that has started to spin on the tube is about to shear at the thread, and it always happens with the trigger pulled.
