These are complete units with the reusable socket built in - no separate ferrule needed. Cut the hose square, oil the nipple thread, wind the socket on anti-clockwise until it bottoms, then screw the nipple home. Reusable means exactly that: unscrew and re-use the fitting when the hose retires.
