Thread Standards

• SAE 45° Flare Female – SAE J512 45° flare. It seals on the mating 45° cone and must not be paired with a JIC 37° fitting.

How to Choose

• A cap is female and covers a male end. A plug is male and blocks a female port. Check which the open connection is before you order.
• A 45° and a 37° look alike. Nose the two cones together if you are unsure which you have.
• The flare seals, not the thread.

Technicians Advice

Wind it to a firm feel and no more. The 45° seat is shallow and soft, and a cap done up hard can mark the very cone you are trying to protect.
