
A pressure reducing valve does the opposite job to a relief valve. Rather than capping the whole system, it holds one branch of the circuit at a lower, regulated pressure while everything else keeps running at full system pressure.
Typical uses: a clamp that must not crush the workpiece, a pilot supply that needs a steady low pressure, or a small cylinder plumbed into a high pressure system.

01 or 02 spring? The 01 spring covers the lower part of the range and gives finer control where the reduced pressure is well below inlet. The 02 spring suits a reduced pressure closer to system pressure.
