Everything electrical on a pressure cleaner between the plug and the pump. Motor capacitors, ignition transformers and high tension leads, contactors and thermal overloads, thermostats, total stop cards and PC control boards, cooling fans and electric motors. When a machine hums and will not turn, trips its overload, will not fire the burner, or runs on after you let the trigger go, the fault is on this page.

A machine that trips its overload the moment you pull the trigger, but runs happily in bypass, is not usually an electrical fault at all. It is the pump loading the motor because the unloader has stuck closed or the nozzle is blocked. Check the water side before you spend money on a contactor - and if the motor is drawing hard enough to trip an overload, stop using it until you know why, because that is how you cook a winding.
